On Monday, December 1, 2008, the Toms River Branch of the Ocean County Library observed “Day With(Out) Art”, an international event commemorating artists, performers, and creators who have fallen victim to the AIDS epidemic.
Spearheaded in 1989 by the organization VisualAIDS, “Day With(Out) Art” is a collaborative project in which thousands of art galleries, museums, and public institutions hold special exhibits to call attention to the impact of AIDS on the world’s creative communities.
The names and images of both visual and performing artists were on display in the second floor gallery and Mancini Hall.
