MASTER  GARDENER  SERIES : PRUNING  AND  CARE  OF SHRUBS

The Master Gardeners of Ocean County will present “Pruning and the Care of Shrubs” at 2:30 at the Stafford Branch of the Ocean County Library on Monday, March 14th.   Master Gardener Sue Norman will explain why pruning is important, demonstrate the basic cuts, the best time to prune, and more.  Sue will also talk about shrub care that will give your property a vivacious, well-kept appearance. During the remaining time, the Master Gardener team will address any questions you may have. They will be at the library from 1:30 – 4:30 PM.  You may also bring in dying or diseased clippings for plant diagnosis and possible remedies.

PEST CONTROL

The Stafford branch of the Ocean County Library will present the program: Pest Control on Wednesday, March 9th from 2:00 – 3:30 PM.  Household pests are more than an embarrassing nuisance. They can bring harmful bacteria into your home. Alper Senman – an inspector with Terminix – will show you how to spot pest infestations from ants, mice, beetles, carpenter bees, cockroaches, and more. He will also talk about what pests are active now and in the springtime months, what steps you can take to correct any damage, and what is needed to prevent pests from returning.

MOVIES  AT  THE  LIBRARY

The Stafford branch of the Ocean County Library will be showing the feature film Secretariat on Saturday, March 12th at 2:00 PM.   Penny Tweedy and colleagues guide her long-shot precocious stallion to set the unbeaten record for winning the Triple Crown in 1973. Rated PG.

The family movie Nanny McPhee Returns is scheduled for Saturday, March 19th at 2:00 PM.   Nanny McPhee helps a young mother who is trying to run the family farm while her husband is away at war.  Rated PG.
