On Saturday September 17, the Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre came to Plumsted to entertain and educate during Hispanic Heritage Month. The Alborada dancers gave Plumsted patrons young and old insights into Spanish culture through dance, costume and music. Children and adults alike enjoyed sharing in the rhythms of Classical, Flamenco and Mexican dance as they also took to the stage for an all-encompassing finale of what they’d learned. For the last 25 years the group has performed in many venues in and around New Jersey including Carnegie Hall and are known as one of the best Flamenco Dance groups in the country.

It was an evening of fun and getting to know each other when St. Francis Community Center’s ESL students at Southern Regional High School celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month at the Stafford branch with ethnic food they prepared. Everyone enjoyed and many danced to the regional music provided by Michael Klebacher with Jersey Shore DJs.
