Discuss organic food benefits at the library

Living on a budget does not mean you have to miss out on the benefits of organic foods.

Jennifer Klein, a registered dietitian with the ShopRite of Manchester, will discuss both organic and non-organic foods at four Ocean County Library branches and offer tips on how a person can fit organic foods into his or her budget.

Klein will also teach cooking techniques and offer samples from a recipe made with organic ingredients.

The program will be offered at 2 p.m. in the following branches:

Berkeley, 30 Station Road, Tuesday April 10

Manchester, 21 Colonial Drive, Thursday May 3

Jackson, 2 Jackson Drive, Thursday May 17

Stafford, 129 N. Main Street, Tuesday May 22.

MANCHESTER BRANCH LIBRARY TO OFFER
30 MINUTE MEALS COOKING DEMONSTRATION

MANCHESTER, NJ – At the Manchester Branch Library on Tuesday, February 21 at 2:00 pm, Jennifer Klein, a registered dietician employed by ShopRite, will show you how to make tasty dishes that are easy and take minimal time to prepare. She will provide samples of the foods from her demonstration for tasting.

MANCHESTER BRANCH LIBRARY TO SHOW
“THE IDES OF MARCH”

MANCHESTER – The Manchester Branch Library will screen the film, “The Ides of March” on Wednesday, February 22, at 2:00 p.m. and again at 6:00 pm. See this popular drama on a large screen without paying the admission fee of a movie theater!

An idealistic staffer (Ryan Gosling) for a newbie presidential candidate (George Clooney) gets a crash course on dirty politics during his stint on the campaign trail.

This R-rated movie is part of the library’s Feature Film Series. It is 101 minutes long. Although registration is not required, early arrival is recommended.

Kids Growing Great @ TR Branch

Kids Growing Great is the first in a series of programs for preschoolers at the Toms River Branch. Participants listened to stories, bumped the ‘chute, heard about the My Plate Food Groups, created edible “apple smiles,” and participated in a flannel board activity. Caregivers received nutritional information from Aimee Wharton, a registered dietician at the ShopRite of Fischer Bay in Toms River.
