Shore’s best “Battle of the Bands”
LAVALLETTE – The second annual Battle of the Bands will be held at the Upper Shores branch (112 Jersey City Avenue, Lavallette) of the Ocean County Library from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday June 14.
The event will feature local garage bands, cover bands and indie groups, including Fake I.D.; Irie Sound; Just Kait; Lost Intentions; Mystical Fudge; No Fold; Note to Self; Suns of the Beach; and George Washington’s Revenge.
They will compete for a four-hour multi-track or live-to-CD session at Metro Music Recording Studio, Bayville. Metro Music donated the prize.
Budding rock stars will showcase their talent throughout the afternoon on the county’s portable stage. It will also give area teens a chance to support the bands’ musical endeavors.
A limited number of commemorative T-shirts will be available for sale Refreshments will be sold by the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lavallette Volunteer Fire Company.
Sponsors for the event include The Academy of Drums and Guitar; The Borough of Lavallette; Friends of the Upper Shores Branch; Lavallette Municipal Alliance; Lavallette Police Department; Lenny’s Pizzeria; Metro Music; and PNC Bank.
This program is free and open to the public. Registration to attend is not required.
