MANCHESTER BRANCH LIBRARY TO OFFER
MICROWAVE COOKING CLASS FOR TWEENS

MANCHESTER– “Junior Julia: Microwave Cooking for Tweens” will take place at the Manchester Branch Library on Monday, March 19 starting at 5:00 pm. At this program, boys and girls ages 11 through 14 will have fun making quick, tasty and nutritious mini-meals, using a microwave oven. To honor Women’s History Month the life of Julia Childs, a notable chef and cooking show personality will be discussed.

MANCHESTER BRANCH LIBRARY TO PRESENT
CONCERT BY THE ANGELTONES

MANCHESTER, NJ – On Tuesday, March 20, the Angeltones will perform at the Manchester Branch Library from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. They will pay tribute to songs of legendary female doo-wop artists such as the Shirelles, Chiffons, Crystals, Marvelettes, Supremes, and Leslie Gore as part of the library’s celebration of Women’s History Month during March. The Angeltones are an all-female doo-wop group from NJ. They have appeared on the TV show, “Let the Good Times Roll” and have performed at the Philadelphia Doo-Wop Festival and with Vito Picone & the Elegants.

All ages are welcome. There is no registration for this free event

MANCHESTER BRANCH LIBRARY TO HOST SEMINAR ON
MAKING DOCTOR VISITS MORE EFFECTIVE

MANCHESTER, NJ – At the Manchester Branch Library on Tuesday, March 20 at 10:00 am, learn how to get the most out of your trip to the doctor. Find out the types of questions you should ask and what documents and information you need to bring with you. The presentation will be made by staff from Horizon Blue Cross of NJ.

This program is part of the library’s “Chapters of Health” series and is being offered as a partnership between Horizon and the library. It is open to the adult public, free of charge and it is not necessary to be a Horizon subscriber to attend. MANCHESTER BRANCH LIBRARY TO SHOW, “QUEEN OF HEARTS”

MANCHESTER – The Manchester Library will screen, “Queen of Hearts” on Wednesday, March 21, at 2:00 p.m. and again at 6:00 pm. See this popular foreign film on a large screen without paying the admission fee of a movie theater!

Thirty-something Adele is devastated after a painful breakup. With no close friends or family, her distant cousin, Rachel, reluctantly takes her in. Rachel suggests that she sleep with other men to get over her heartbreak. Adele bounces from one lover to the next in search of her perfect companion but can’t escape the visage of her ex. Finally, she recognizes the man who may just hold the answer to her broken heart.

The dialogue is in French with English subtitles. It is part of the library’s monthly Independent Film Series and is 84 minutes long. Registration is not required. This program is open all ages although it is geared toward adults.
