Quilting Fun At The Toms River Branch

Ellen Hyers, President of the Beach Plum Quilters Guild, presented several antique quilts from her collection on Wednesday, March 14th, at the Toms River branch of the Ocean County Library.  Beginning with a quilt made at the York Girls School in Pennsylvania in 1825 and ending with an applique kit quilt from the Great Depression, Ms. Hyers educated a rapt audience on the differences between album quilts and applique, as well as variations in the process of dying fabrics.  For more information, go to www.beachplumquilters.org
