WRITER’S CIRCLE TO HOLD MEETINGS
AT THE MANCHESTER BRANCH LIBRARY

MANCHESTER –The Manchester Branch Library’s Writer’s Circle will be holding its semi-monthly meetings on Tuesdays, April 3 and 17 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. During our meetings, we critique each other’s works and discuss issues pertinent to authorship. Participants can receive answers to questions about the writing and publication processes. Learn the steps involved in copyrighting a written work and how to go about finding an agent. Find out how others cope with writer’s block and get feedback on your manuscript before sending it to a publisher.

This program is open to the adult public, free of charge. No need to register in advance.

MANCHESTER BRANCH LIBRARY TO SHOW
“HUGO”

MANCHESTER – The Manchester Branch Library will screen the film, “Hugo” on Wednesday, April 4, at 2:00 p.m. and again at 6:00 pm. See this popular family adventure on a large screen without paying the admission fee of a movie theater!

Set in 1930s Paris, Hugo (Asa Butterfield) is an orphan who lives in the walls of a train station. He fixes clocks and other gadgets as he learned to from his father (Jude Law) and uncle (Ben Kingsley). When he becomes wrapped up in finding the key to an automaton that doesn’t work, his only possession linking him to his father, Hugo finds a connection to his father through a cranky old train station employee (Sacha Baron Cohen).

This PG-rated movie is part of the library’s Feature Film Series. It is 126 minutes long. Although registration is not required, early arrival is recommended.

MANCHESTER BRANCH LIBRARY TO SHOW
“TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, SPY”

MANCHESTER – The Manchester Branch Library will screen the film, “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy” on Wednesday, April 11, at 2:00 p.m. and again at 6:00 pm. See this popular mystery/ thriller on a large screen without paying the admission fee of a movie theater!

Set during the Cold War in the early 1970s, British Intelligence veteran George Smiley (Gary Oldman) is forced from semi-retirement to uncover a Soviet agent within MI6 which is under the management of a new director and deputy director (Colin Firth).

This R-rated movie is part of the library’s Feature Film Series. It is 127 minutes long. Although registration is not required, early arrival is recommended.
