Learn About Polar Bears at the Ocean County Library

Did you know that polar bears have the same environmental worries that people do?

Several Ocean County Library branches are hosting a special children’s program featuring Jenkinson’s Aquarium senior keeper Carol McCallum this summer.

At these children-friendly programs McCallum will share information about polar bears in the wild and what we can do to help them. Following her will be a polar bear storytime.

This program is for ages 4-10.

The following Ocean County Library branches are hosting the program:

Tuesday, July 10, 10:30 am at the Little Egg Harbor Branch (290 Mathistown Road)

Tuesday, July 10, 2:00 pm at the Barnegat Branch (112 Burr Street)

Wednesday, July 11, 10:30 am at the Island Heights Branch (121 Central Avenue)

Wednesday, July 11, 3pm at the Lakewood Branch (301 Lexington Avenue)

Thursday, July 12, 6:00 pm at the Point Pleasant Beach Branch (710 McLean Avenue)

Tuesday, Aug. 7, 10:30 am at the Tuckerton Branch (380 Bay Avenue)

Tuesday, Aug. 7, 3:00 pm at the Jackson Branch (2 Jackson Drive)

Wednesday, Aug. 8, 10:00 am at the Stafford Branch (129 North Main Street, Manahawkin)

Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2:30 pm at the Waretown Branch (112 Main Street)

These programs are free and open to the public. Registration is required; it can be done online at http://www.theoceancountylibrary.org or by contacting the hosting branch by telephone.
