The Catskill Players portrayed a young Hiawatha in search of his vision to curious youngsters during performances at the Long Beach Island and the Lakewood branches Friday July 20.

Utilizing full sets, exquisitely crafted puppets and Native American flute and drum recording the troupe told how Hiawatha, with help from his friends Bear and Turtle, discovers the pathway he had to follow in order to become a great leader.

About 40 people attended the LBI performance and 70 attended the Lakewood presentation.
