MANCHESTER BRANCH LIBRARY TO HOST TALENT SHOW

MANCHESTER, NJOn October 6 at 1:30 pm, the Manchester Branch Library is planning a talent show in celebration of Intergenerational Day and Diversity Month. Everyone is invited to watch a variety of performances by members of the local community representing different age groups and ethnicities. Light refreshments will be served.

There is no registration for spectators attending this free event. For more information call 732.657.7600.

The Manchester Branch of the Ocean County Library is located at 21 Colonial Drive in Manchester Township.

MANCHESTER BRANCH LIBRARY FRIENDS

TO SPONSOR OCTOBER PHOTO EXHIBIT AND RECEPTION 

 MANCHESTER, NJ– OnSaturday, October 6, the Manchester Branch Library Friends group will host a reception to take place at the library starting at 2:00 pm to honor members of the Crestwood Camera Club whose photographs will be on display in the library’s meeting room throughout the month of October. The public is invited to drop in to see the display, share light refreshments, meet the photographers and listen to them discuss their works.

The reception is open to the adult public, free of charge. There is no advance registration.

Interested parties are also permitted to stop by to view this exhibit during the library’s regular business hours whenever the meeting room is available.  Calling the library beforehand at 732.657.7600 is recommended.

THE 2012 WORLD SERIES

 

MANCHESTER, NJOn Monday, October 8 at 2:00 pm, connect with fellow baseball fans at the Manchester Branch Library to recap the 2012 Major League Baseball season. We will review the predictions we made back in April and July and debate what the end of the season will bring and which team will become the next world champions of baseball!

We will discuss burning questions like: Will the Yankees get their 28th ring?  Or, will it be the Cinderella Washington Nationals and Bryce Harper? Or maybe the third time will be the charm for Josh Hamilton and the Texas Rangers. And, what do you think of the new playoffs format? Join us as we talk all things baseball and World Series!

MANCHESTER BRANCH LIBRARY TO SHOW

“W”

MANCHESTER – The Manchester Branch Library will screen the film, “W” on Monday, October 8, at 2:00 p.m. See this popular biography/drama on a large screen without paying the admission fee of a movie theater!  

Oliver Stone chronicle’s the life of US President George W. Bush (Josh Brolin) from his wild and carefree days in college, to his military service, to his governorship of Texas and role in the oil business, his 2000 candidacy for president, his first turbulent four years, and his 2004 re-election campaign.

This PG13-rated movie is part of the library’s October Presidential Film Festival. It is 129 minutes long. Although registration is not required, early arrival is recommended.
