La Takkarata performed in Mancini Hall

The Ocean County Columbus Day Parade Committee sponsored a performance by the folk-group “La Takkarata” from Frangeto Monforte (Benevento) in Ocean County Library’s Mancini Hall Friday, Oct. 5th.

The performance kicked off the annual weekend-long festival and parade held in Seaside Heights.

Jerry Bove was the program’s Master of Ceremonies.  The 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, John D. McMahon Assembly 1926 posted the arch and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department was the Posting Honor Guard.

Maria Cambria Lambusta sang the national anthem. Andre De Mino was the Key Note speaker.

Ocean County Freeholder Director Gerry Little presented a proclamation from the county to the folk group.

Also attending was this year’s Parade Grand Marshal Joseph Leone Introna; Parade Chairman Michael Blandina, and John Giavatto, the parade committee’s International Relations Co-chairman.
