A tribute program to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. @ Brick & Stafford

Ocean County Library will present Linda Humes as she celebrates the legacy and times of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during two performances Monday Jan. 21.

Humes, accompanied by master percussionist Sanga of the Valley, will pay tribute to the civil rights leader and his powerful message of peace and justice for all.

Stories about others who shared in the struggle and advanced the cause, people such as Rosa Parks and Marion Anderson, will be sprinkled in throughout her program.

This family-appropriate program will be held at the Brick branch, 301 Chambers Bridge Rd. (732) 477-4513 at 4 p.m. and the Stafford branch, 129 N. Main St. Manahawkin (609) 597-3381 at 7 p.m.

The performances are free and open to the public.  Registration is required.  Telephone the branch to register.

The performances are sponsored in part by funding from an OceanFirst Foundation Arts and Cultural Grant, and the Ocean County Library Foundation.
