Mummers Strut Their Way Into The Manchester Branch

As part of their National Library Week celebration, the Top Hats will perform at the Manchester Branch Library on Friday, April 19 at 2:00 pm. The group performs traditional Philadelphia Mummers music from the Tin Pan Alley era of the 1920s, 30s and 40s through pieces that are more current and popular. The band consists of saxophones, banjos, a rhythm bass, drums and percussion instruments, a guitar, vocalist, and an M.C. There is no registration for this free, all ages program. Light refreshments will also be provided.

This year, National Library Week takes place from April 14 to 20 with the theme being, “Communities matter @ your library.” In addition to the concert, the Manchester Branch Library will have a drawing for a library themed gift basket. Visitors to the Manchester Branch can enter during the week whenever the library is open. The winner will be selected the following Monday.
