MANCHESTER BRANCH LIBRARY TO SHOW

“LES MISÉRABLES”

 MANCHESTER – The Manchester branch will screen the film, “Les Misérables” Wednesday May 1 at three new times: noon, 3 pm and again at 6 pm. See this popular musical drama on a large screen without paying the admission fee of a movie theater!  

 Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman), known as Prisoner 24601, is released from prison and breaks parole to create a new life for himself while evading the grip of the persistent Inspector Javert (Russell Crowe). His fateful decision to care for factory worker Fantine’s (Anne Hathaway) daughter changes their lives forever. Set in post-revolutionary France, the story reaches resolution against the background of the June Rebellion.

 This PG13-rated movie is part of the library’s Feature Film Series. It is 158 minutes long. Although registration is not required, early arrival is recommended.

MANCHESTER BRANCH LIBRARY TO HOST SEMINAR ON

DEALING WITH STRESS

MANCHESTER, NJ – The Manchester branch will present “Stress and Relaxation” on Thursday May 2 starting at 2 pm. Health professionals from the Center for Healthy Aging at Kimball Medical Center (an affiliate of the Barnabas Health System) will discuss the causes of stress and its impact on one’s health, and offer relaxation techniques to combat its effects. The sponsoring organization is providing light refreshments to attendees.

 This free program is part of the library’s “Chapters of Health” series and is open to the adult public, free of charge. Go online to www.theoceancountylibrary.org or call 732.657.7600 to register.
