OCL Looking for Volunteers

TOMS RIVER – The Ocean County Library will once again offer summer volunteer programs and is looking for teen volunteers to help out with its Reading Buddies program.

In the Reading Buddies program, a teen volunteer who has finished sixth grade is paired with a younger student in grades one through four. The pair works together to improve the child’s reading skills. Teen volunteers get the additional experience of helping young children and also accumulate volunteer hours.

The deadline to volunteer for this program is June 21st. To register, come to the Toms River branch at 101 Washington St. and fill out an application.

For more information on the program contact the Young Adult Services Department of the Library at 732-349-6200, extension 5201.
