OCL hosts Toms River mural project

The Ocean County Library children’s department at the Toms River branch is hosting the creation of the Downtown Toms River Community Mural Project.

The first community mural project in Downtown Toms River’s history invites anyone in the area to come help with the painting process. No experience is necessary and all ages are invited to participate.

The mural is being done on a specially primed material that can withstand weather, pollution, and even graffiti. The permanent display is expected to last at least 35-40 years on an outside wall of Simply Skin, located at the corner of Water and Lien Streets.

The mural will represent the culture and history of Toms River and will include suggestions from local residents.

The mural will be unveiled on October 19 at the Arts, Crafts, Music, and Harvest Festival in Downtown Toms River.
