Bringing up children: Tips for Terrific Parents

Dr. Crystal Kuykendall will present “Tips for Terrific Parenting” Thursday Sept. 26 at 5:30 p.m. In Ocean County Library’s Toms River branch, 101 Washington St.

A former teacher, Kuykendall has a Doctorate in Educational Administration.

The presentation will provide insight on some of the causes of underperformance, underachievement, poor discipline, apathy, anger and rage in many “at-risk” youth.

She will also provide strategies that can be used by school officials, parents and care givers to meet the academic and social student needs of today’s youth.

Kuykendall will offer tips that can enable students to develop responsible behavior, improve self-discipline, and set up long- and short-term goals.

The program, designed for parents, educators and professionals who work with adolescents, is free and open to the public, but space is limited and registration is required.

To register telephone the library operator at (732) 349-6200 or (609) 971-0514 or visit the Web site .

The Ocean County Library is a registered NJ Department of Education Professional Development Provider. Professional development certificates can be provided following the presentation.
