It’s Hot! Latin Jazz in Little Egg Harbor Library

If “Shhh” is the language you expect to be spoken in a library then you’re surely going to be disappointed at the Little Egg Harbor library branch Oct. 1st.

On that day it won’t be the sounds of silence, but rather the driving, upbeat tempo of Latin music that will blow out the walls and get you dancing in the aisles!

Ocean County Library’s Little Egg Harbor branch, 290 Mathistown Rd., will host a concert of Latin music by Ray Rodriguez y Swing Sabroso Tuesday Oct. 1 at 7 p.m.

The band, formed in 2001, has a distinctive style of Salsa Dura that is the result of the diverse musical backgrounds of each band member. Each has performed and recorded with some of the most recognized names in Jazz and Latin music, people like Wynton Marsalis, Whitney Houston and Celia Cruz, before they formed Swing Sabroso.

The group has performed at Lincoln Center, S.O.B.’s in NYC’s SoHo district, LQ’s Philadelphia Salsa Congress, NYC Salsa Congress and many regional clubs and festivals.

The performance, cosponsored by the Friends of the Little Egg Harbor Library and Tuckerton Library Association, is free and open to the public.
