Manchester branch will host Ruth Kaye’s “My Grandmother, My Mother & Me”

MANCHESTER  Ruth Kaye will perform her autobiographical play, “My Grandmother, My Mother & Me” Saturday Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. at the Manchester library branch, 21 Colonial Dr.

Through lively dialog interwoven with song, Ruth tells the story of her own Jewish family from the perspective of three generations of women. She begins by portraying her grandmother in 19th century Russia. She then focuses on her mother, Leah, who marries her childhood sweetheart, survives a family crisis and learns to make a life of her own. Finally, Ruth reveals herself as an awkward young adult who blossoms into a wife, mother, and performer in this celebration of how one generation connects to another.

This free program is open to teens and adults. Registration is not required.
