Master Gardeners to present orchid program @ Stafford

MANAHAWKIN  – The Rutgers Cooperative Extension, Master Gardeners of Ocean County will present “Orchids” at the Stafford branch 2:30 p.m. Monday March 24.

Orchids have a magical beauty, with incredible colors, shapes, and scents. Maybe this contributes to the belief that they are difficult to grow and bloom. In reality, most orchids are not difficult plants, and some are practically indestructible.

Master Gardener Chuck Labelson will talk about many varieties of orchids as well as tips for growing them. The Master Gardener team will answer questions before and after the talk. Bring in your dying or diseased clippings for plant diagnosis and possible remedies.

The Stafford branch is located at 129 N. Main St. in Manahawkin. This program is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the Rutgers Cooperative Extension, Master Gardeners of Ocean County. Please register by calling the branch at 609-597-3381, online at www.theoceancountylibrary.org or in person. If you have any questions, call the library.
