3 local Rockers will perform @ TR April 7

TOMS RIVER –  Three local singer/songwriters will rock the house when they perform at Ocean County Library’s Toms River branch, 101 Washington St., 7 p.m. Monday April 7.

Jo Wymer, a Grammy nominee, Navy veteran and mother has been writing Americana, Blues and Rock music for the past 15 years.

Her vocals are soulful and bring an authentic raw feel to her songs.  Her delivery of these storylines, whether performing with her band or a solo acoustic show, is masterful and genius. Audiences are awe struck with her emotional performances.

She has toured with Norah Jones, recorded with The E Street Band, performed with the SNL band and Earl Slick from David Bowie. She has opened for Joan Osborne, Martin Short, Jeffrey Gains, Glen Burtnik and many others.

Jeff Otis Brown has been performing and writing music for over 30 years. He draws heavily from Country, Rock and Blues that provide the background for his rootsy “Jersey” sound.

Strong melodies supported by honest, heartfelt lyrics cover the achievements and struggles of love and life that everyone can relate to.  Coupled with a powerful voice and rhythmic style, he provides the type of raw emotion that an audience really grabs onto.

He has backed up rock and pop legends including Terry Sylvester, formerly of “The Hollies,” Denny Laine, formerly of “Wings” and founding member of “The Moody Blues,” and John Ford Coley of “England Dan and John Ford Coley” fame. He has performed across the US and in nine countries.

He has opened for Jefferson Starship, Eric Burdon & The Animals, Ambrosia, Richie Havens, Pete Best, Connie Francis, The Platters, Bobby Lewis, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, The Drifters and more.

Greg Cuozzo lived in Toms River for 40 years before recently moving to Brielle. In addition to his love of music, he is a physician.

He has been writing songs for four years and is about to release his first CD, “Friends in the Forrest.” His CD will be produced and engineered by his good friend Jeff Otis Brown.

The program is free and open to the public but registration is required. To register telephone the branch 732-349-6200 or 609-971-0514 or visit the website at www.theoceancountylibrary.org and click on the “Event and News” icon for the link to the library’s Calendar of Events.
