Ocean County Library Holds Eigth Annual Film Festival

Ocean County Library Film Fest 2014 Toms RIver Branch May 10 2014

Ocean County Library held its eighth annual Student Film Festival at the Toms River Branch on May 10. Over 200 films were submitted by high school students from New Jersey.

“The submissions we get each year keep getting better and better,” said librarian and Film Festival coordinator Jeanne Collacott. “We’re very proud that we get to support the artistic development of teens in our community.”

Categories ranged from “Best Music Video” to “Best Mockumentary” to “Best Stop Motion Animation”. Awards were given in 22 different categories.

The Student Film Festival was sponsored by the Ocean County Library, the Ocean County Cultural and Heritage Commission, the Toms River, Long Beach Island and Jackson Kiwanis Clubs, Central Ocean Rotary Club, and the Ocean County Department of Tourism.
