Ravally joins OCL Commission

TOMS RIVER – The Ocean County Library Commission welcomed its newest board member, John A. Ravally, Ed.D., at the June 17 Library Commission meeting.

Library counsel Franklin H. Berry, Jr. administered the oath of office.

Dr. Ravally has been the Superintendent of the Point Pleasant Beach and Bay Head School Districts since 2006.

He earned his Doctor of Education degree in 2002 from the Nova Southeastern University, Florida. He is a 1996 graduate of Georgian Court University, Lakewood, earning a Master’s degree in Educational Administration. His B.A. was earned from The College of New Jersey, Ewing Township, in 1988.

He is a member of the Monmouth Ocean Education Services Commission’s Board of Directors, a member of the NJ Association of School Administrators, and a member and Past-President of the Ocean County Association of School Administrators.

Ravally is also an adjunct professor at Georgian Court University’s Graduate School of Education.

“I am excited to share my experiences as an Ocean County school administrator with the Library Commission in hopes to discover more ways to connect library services with the youth throughout the county, helping to build an even stronger local community,” he said.
The seven-member Library Commission is the governing body for the Ocean County Library. It includes Chairperson Sal Baglio, Vice Chairperson Bonnie Peterson, and Commissioners Henry J. Mancini, Susan Hutler, James T. Mullins, Ruthanne Scaturro and Ravally.
