Four branches to host Horizon BCBS “Managing Diabetes”

Four branches of the Ocean County Library will host the Blue Cross/Blue Shield Blue-to-You van and a presentation for “Managing Diabetes: Taking Control,” in August and September.

The presentation will provide a comprehensive overview of diabetes including a summary of the disease, its causes and associated symptoms and complications.

Presenters will discuss how individuals can better manage their diabetic health, understand the importance of diet, exercise and blood sugar management, and offer helpful tips on interpreting food labels.

The programs will be held:

Stafford, 129 N. Main St. Manahawkin, Aug.  22, 11a.m. – noon, 609-597-3381

Manchester, 21 Colonial Dr., Sept. 19, 10 – 11 a.m., 732-657-7600

Jackson, 2 Jackson Dr., Sept. 22, 10 – 11 a.m., 732-928-4400

LBI, 217 S, Central Ave., Surf City, Sept. 26, 10- 11 a.m., 609-494-2480.

The programs are free and open to the public but registration is required. To register telephone the branch or go to the library’s website www.theoceancountylibrary.org , click on the “Events & News” icon, then click on “Calendar of Events.”
