Hubble Space Telescope yields information & crafts

Senior Librarian Michelle Brzozowski hosted an event on the Hubble Space Telescope for children ages 6 and up at the Brick branch (301 Chambers Bridge Road) Thursday, August 14.

She gave a brief history of the telescope. It was launched into orbit in 1990 and is scheduled to be replaced later this decade. She described the telescope’s duties, which is to observe and photograph space objects, including galaxies, stars, planets, black holes, and more. She also cited notable examples of what the telescope has discovered.

The event concluded with space-themed arts and crafts.
