NASA education at the Little Egg Harbor library

Children, ages 5 to 12, learned about planets orbiting the sun at the Little Egg Harbor branch of the Ocean County Library on Thursday August 14.

Carly Sutherland, from the New Jersey NASA Education Resource Center at Georgian Court, taught planetary orbit using crafts and balls of various sizes. Children in the class learned the orbit of earth, the order of planets, and the diameter of planets through the multi-sensory lesson.

Join Sutherland and Dr. Tabor-Morris for the next installment of “NASA Education” at the Little Egg Harbor branch, 290 Station Rd., 10:30 a.m. Thursday  Aug. 21 for “Measuring the Universe” and 10:30 a.m. Thursday Aug. 28 for “Exploring Meteorites.”

The programs are free and open to the public but registration is required. To register telephone the branch 609-294-1197 or go to the library’s website www.theoceancountylibrary.org , click on the “Events & News” icon, then click on “Calendar of Events.”
