Feel better. Develop new skills. Volunteer fair in Toms River Tuesday

TOMS RIVER –  With the many news stories about crises and disasters that one learns about each day, have you ever wondered where you can go to volunteer to help others?

Local agencies and organizations are looking for your help. Ocean County Library’s Toms River branch, 101 Washington St., will provide you a chance to connect with those groups at a volunteer fair and show how you can use your talents to assist your community.

The fair will be held 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday Sept. 23.

Various talents and skills are needed from volunteers and many organizations will provide training.

Volunteer opportunities include clerical and office assistance, computer and technology skills, crafts, construction, tutoring, fundraising, and participating in advocacy and educational events.

Volunteering helps a person feel good about him- or herself. It is a great way to learn a new skill and it adds a new dimension to a person’s job or school resume.

The fair is free and open to the public.
