Hola! Welcome to the Stafford branch!

The Stafford branch celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month Wednesday, Oct. 15th, with an evening of food and music. Ray Rodriguez y Swing Sabroso’s distinctive style (Salsa Dura) got people dancing and singing along from the very first notes to the last. Ray has become a favorite of ours.

Much of the evening’s success was due to the efforts of the St. Francis ESL teachers Peggy Fagans, Diane Rafter and Barbara Bishop, and their students. We commend their students for preparing such excellent authentic cuisine that was representative of their countries. It truly was a feast and we received so many compliments on it.

The Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science (M.A.T.E.S.) Spanish Club and their teacher Daniel Wellner attended. This was their third year, and for the first time we welcomed Mrs. Hoops and her Spanish Club from All Saints Regional Catholic School.

We were also happy to see many of our community members there. We issued library cards and made the library and the township of Stafford a more welcoming place to our newer residents. This event was an excellent opportunity for people to get to know others from different cultures and across all ages.

Many thanks go to those responsible for the funding of this fabulous Fiesta: The Friends of the Stafford Library, Ocean Acres Civic Association, and The Ocean County Library System Programming Committee.

¡Hasta el próximo año!

Daniel N. Wellner:

Muchas gracias por tenernos. Our students had a great time and the band was awesome. Peggy is a hoot every year. We are looking forward to next year.

Saludos. Siempre sigue adelante.
