Master Gardeners to discuss vegetable gardening @ Stafford

MANAHAWKIN –   The Rutgers Cooperative Extension (RCE), Master Gardeners of Ocean County will present Vegetable Gardening and Vegetable Seed Starting at 2:30 p.m. at the Stafford branch of the Ocean County Library on Monday, February 23rd.   Master Gardener Berry Jones will talk about how to plan, prepare, and plant your vegetable garden, covering lay-out, seasonal rotation, seed catalogs and packets, soil testing, soil preparation and planting.  The Master Gardener team will be available to address any questions you may have before and after the talk, and will be at the library from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m.  You may also bring in dying or diseased clippings for plant diagnosis and possible remedies.

The Stafford branch is located at 129 N. Main St. in Manahawkin. This program is free and open to the public. Please register by calling the branch at (609) 597-3381, registering online at or in person. If you have any questions, call the library for specific information.
