Stafford presents Master Gardeners 4/27: pruning & care of shrubs

MANAHAWKIN –   Roberta Quinn of The Master Gardeners of Ocean County, Rutgers Cooperative Extension, will present the program: Pruning and Care of Shrubs, on Monday, April 27th, at 2:30 PM at the Stafford branch of the Ocean County Library. Take the mystery out of what to prune when. Incorrect pruning may cause a significant decrease in blooms for next year. For example, early spring blooming shrubs bear flowers on wood from the previous year, so you’ll will want to prune these right after they bloom in the spring. Learn how with the pros.

The Master Gardener team will be available from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. to answer questions before and after the talk. Bring in your dying or diseased cuttings for diagnosis and possible remedies.

The Stafford branch is located at 129 N. Main St. in Manahawkin. This program is free and open to the public. Please register by calling the branch at (609) 597-3381, registering online at or in person. If you have any questions, call the library for specific information.
