Prom gown giveaway on TV tonight

Check out tonight’s episode of “Chasing News” at 10 pm on My 9 (channel 9) and Fox 29 for a special segment concerning the Ocean County Library’s annual prom dress giveaway program.

Mancini Hall was filled with prom dresses on Friday and Saturday which were distributed for free to area teens.

Reporter Tamara Laine stopped by the Toms River Branch to meet OCL staff coordinating the project and Miss Ocean County 2015 Kyra Seeley.

Tamara interviewed Toms River Branch Manager/Chief Librarian Zarita Mattox and Berkeley Branch Manager Erin DeLucia for the segment. Erin began the distribution program six years ago when she was a Young Adult librarian in Lakewood. That first year she distributed 25 gowns. This year more than 700 gowns were given away at five OCL branches.

Tamara confirmed this afternoon that the segment will air during this evening’s show which starts at 10 pm.
