The Brick branch of the Ocean County Library hosted a housing information fair Saturday, January 23 from 11:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
“Get Help! with Housing Information Fair” helped provide answers to all types of housing questions and housing issues.
The fair offered area residents an opportunity to meet and talk with representatives from governmental agencies and not-for-profit organizations specializing in housing issues. Some of the topics that were covered included first-time home buying, refinancing regulations, foreclosure information and rights of tenants and landlords.
The program was organized by Susan Gardiner, Brick branch manager, and Alaina Arce, New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance Community Outreach Coordinator.
It was a partnership of the New Jersey State Library and the New Jersey Library Association.
Groups on hand to answer questions were representatives from the state Department of Banking and Insurance, Census 2010, the Public Advocates Office, the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development, Consumer Credit and Budget Counseling New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency, Novadebta, a credit counseling and debt management service, Homes Now a 501-C.3 not-for-profit corporation that provides affordable housing and services to municipalities throughout the state of New Jersey and Dottie’s House a transitional housing facility for women and children who have survived domestic violence.
